American Idol 5/17/2007 – Top 3 Results
Speculation is rampant on who will be going home tonight. I’ve been trolling the internet all day long, and no one can agree on who should be going home. It seems that the 3 remaining contestants are all so good that it’s too close to call. I’d contend that Melinda is clearly the best, but I’m not sure if she has the most commercial appeal. We’ll see what America really thinks in just one short commercial-laden hour. Here we go!
UPDATE: The Simpsons! Homer! This is, uh, uh, OH! American Idol!

UDPATE: $100,000 is on Randy’s wrist right now. I have about $2.34 on my wrist right now.

UPDATE: Jordin’s trip back home… And the cheerleaders are cheering for her! That’s like the first time I’ve ever seen cheerleaders for singing. Pretty soon we’ll have cheerleaders for choirs around the country.

UPDATE: American Idol challenge: Which Top 3 from last year wasn’t in last year’s finale? Clearly, it was A) Elliot Yamin.
UPDATE: Blake Lewis on the top of the Space Needle!
UPDATE: Does anyone realize how unnecessary that Seattle to Bothell flight is? It’s like a 20 min drive when there’s no traffic.
UPDATE: Blake’s results – the judges liked him, of course. And of course we’re not hearing the results yet.
UPDATE: Whoa – what’s with Elliot’s new hairdo?!?!? That’s quite the change. No wonder Ryan said he hardly recognizes this guy anymore.
UPDATE: This is a very good performance - Go Elliot! He’s really gotten quite good – much more polished than last year.
UPDATE: The Judges: rave reviews. Simon didn’t like the arrangement, er… lol.
UPDATE: Ryan: “lots more… Maroon 5… [yadda yadda] … and Melinda goes home.” Oops! I think he meant we’ll see her “return to home for a parade” video. The look on her face was crazy. But maybe she really does go home! That would be crazy!
UPDATE: That was actually the best Ford Music Video yet. And that’s not sayin much.

UPDATE: Nashville! Is it just me, or was Melinda’s day the most low-key? Melinda Doolittle Way!
UDPATE: And now Melinda’s results… She’s great, the judges loved her. And the resutls are now a little bit closer than when Ryan last gave some.

I don’t think Maroon 5′s performance was all that great tonight. The recorded version is quite a bit better.

UPDATE: Jordin’s up first. Almost 60 million votes. She’s safe!
UPDATE: So – Melinda or Blake? Simon looks a bit nervous… Does that mean trouble for Melinda?
UPDATE: Melinda steps forward. And she’s out! WOW! I didn’t think this could happen!
UPDATE: Well, at least Blake is in the finale. That’s great. But Melinda going home is just crazy. Well, it’ll be interesting next week, for sure!
